Councilor Yangot to give Php1,000 reward to market porters who can catch snatchers

In a move to lessen incidents of snatching in the Baguio city crowded market, one councilor is giving away Php1,000 to anyone of the market porters who can catch or apprehend snatchers.

According to Bombo Radyo Baguio Ilocano website, Marvin Binay-an, senior staff of Councilor Leandro Yangot said during a market summit that porters can help in keeping the market free from snatchers and holdapers.

The Baguio City Public Market has been known to have the most recorded incidents of crimes relating to thievery especially the area of Malcom Square, Magsaysay and Kayang Street.

According to Yangot, porters who had apprehended snatchers will be given cash reward as recognition of their effort.

However, he explained that porters are not obligated to doing the catching of thieves and the reward money will come from the councilor's pocket.
